Nevada East Shore Builders, Inc. possesses extensive knowledge on home hardening techniques to strengthen your home against wildfires.

We have years of experience implementing fire hardening techniques to safeguard some of Lake Tahoe’s most treasured and beautiful homes.

When it comes to building materials for your home, fire safety is crucial, especially in wildfire-prone areas. Understanding flame spread ratings and choosing materials with an Ignition Resistant designation, a Class "A" Flame Spread Rating, and/or WUI Compliance can help protect your home and loved ones.

WUI or Wildland Urban Interface refers to zones where houses and areas prone to wildfires meet. Local building codes in WUI zones mandate fire-resistant materials for construction projects. WUI-Compliant materials resist flame spread and catching fire due to flying embers.

Resists Flame Spread - WUI approved materials has a flame spread rating from an "A" to a "C". An "A" rating means it has the lowest rate of flame spread and burns more slowly.

Resists Embers - Wildfires often shower sparks and embers, which can ignite materials. WUI-Compliant materials resist catching fire due to flying embers while self-closing vents can prevent embers from entering attics and crawl spaces.
